Three children have been reported killed by a road accident in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Witnesses said the children were killed on Easter Monday in a crash caused by reckless driving.
The unidentified driver of the GLK 350 car was said to be at high speed, and lost control, which led to the crushing of the three children and serious injury to their father who was ferrying them in his rickshaw, locally called Keke.
The identities of the dead children and their now hospitalized father were not immediately available at press time, as was their destination.
The Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Security, Hon. John Enamuotor, who broke news of the incident, expressed dismay at the death of the three children, alleging that the driver might have been on drugs.
According to him, the accident occurred close to Mcharty Beach, Abraka, adding, “the vehicle was coming from the beach at a high speed and rammed on the three children killing them on the spot.”
He added, “This is an accident scene that took place along old Benin/Abraka road in the late hours of yesterday 21/04/2025.”
It is understood that the injured father of the children is currently receiving treatment at the Government Hospital, Abraka.
