A new Executive Committee ( EXCO) has been elected for the prime socio- cultural group, Agbor Community Union (ACU), following its weekend elections in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State
It is led by renowned academic, Prof. Onyemsechi Ugboh, who beat Emmanuel Ebomah by 165 votes to 33.
Other members of the EXCO of ACU include Mr Augustine Ekamagule, Editor-In-Chief of Ika Mirror, who was returned as its Public Relations Officer (PRO).
At the event, Prof Ugboh, who is the Head of Agriculture at University of Delta, Agbor, pledged the sustained selfless commitment to the wholesome development of Agbor Kingdom.
He commended the board of ACU and its Election Committee for the transparent conduct of the poll, and sought the cooperation of members in order to present a potent united front for the attainment of set goals. The ACU leader vowed to make a positive difference.
In a brief chat after the election and inauguration of the EXCO, the PRO, Ekamagule expressed the hope that the current leadership of the group would make a marked difference to bequeath a legacy of worthy legacy.
Dr. Onyemaechi Ugboh has emerged as the President General of Agbor Community Union (ACU) pulling a total of 165 Votes against his opponent Barrister Emmanuel Ebormah Who scored 33 votes in an election that was held on Saturday at Agbor Community Hall in Ime-Obi, Ika South Local Government Local Government Area of Delta State.
The election was held to constitute the executive of Agbor Community Union. It was also to replaced the various elected positions of the previous executive whose tenure has already elapsed.
Speaking before the swearing-in of newly elected executives, the Chairman of Board of Trustee (BOT) of ACU, Sir Fidelis Moye advised the newly inaugurated executive of the union to ensure transparency and accountability in the discharged of their various duties of the Union affairs.
He said that, the advice has become very necessary as it would go a long way of ensure competency in Leadership quality that would make a difference in their administration.
Pointing out that only their unity and dedication to the service of ACU he said could contribute to the development of the union and the entire Agbor Kingdom.
Responding on behalf of the newly elected executive of the union , the newly elected President General of Agbor Community Union Dr. Onyemaechi Ugboh while thanking the members of the Board of Trustee and the electoral Committee of the Union for their fairness in the election Conduct.
Assured that the current administration would do their best to ensure quality representation and better service during his administration as the PG.
Dr. Ugboh who is also the Head of Agriculture Department at University of Delta (UNIDEL) in Agbor further used the medium to solicit for the total support and cooperation of other members of the executive and the entire people of Agbor Kingdom to enhance their administrative best performance.
Speaking with Journalist immediately after their inauguration, the newly elected public Relation Officer (PRO) of the union Mr Augustine Ekamagule while thanking the voters for finding him worthy to serve as a member of the ACU executive said that, he would used his position to create public awareness by constantly working with the media to give an update of the administrative l performance of the Union
Mr. Ekamagule who is the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Ika Mirror Newspaper further stated that he has no doubt that the current newly constituted executive would performed well.
As the elected executive he said are made up of members that have the Zeal and dedication for community services.
