Amid rising violence in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has banned night grazing and restricted cattle transportation after 7:00 p.m. The decision follows recent deadly attacks in communities including Hurti, Josho, Daffo, Zike, and Kimakpa, which left scores dead and property destroyed.
In a statewide broadcast, Mutfwang said the measures, effective April 16, aim to curb escalating insecurity. The use of motorcycles is also prohibited between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. across the State.
He assured citizens of his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and properties, thanked President Tinubu for supporting peace efforts, and pledged to form a fact-finding panel to investigate the root causes of the violence in the State.
