With a fresh invigorating bounce on its feet, Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) is set to formally receive the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, his predecessor in office, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Deputy Governor of the state, Sir Monday Onyeme and the echelon of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state into its fold.
The event, according to a statement by the state chapter of the APC, is scheduled for 9 am, tomorrow at the Cenotaph, Asaba.
The epochal event, which will attract APC flowers from all over the country, is a follow up to last Wednesday’ s surprise move by Oborevwori who is moving the entire structure of his administration into the APC.
Oborevwori was elected on the ticket of the PDP.
The statement, inter alia, said,” “It is with the greatest joy that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, cordially invites members of our great party, esteemed leaders, stakeholders and the general public to a historic reception in honour of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, as he formally joins the APC family together with the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, elected members of the national and state assemblies, Local Government Chairmen of the 25 local government councils, and the general membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.
This momentous occasion has created a massive political earthquake that has transformed the landscape of the entire Delta State and will be graced by the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON; the National Chairman of our great Party, His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje CON; the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma; leading other Governors of the party, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN; the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie; members of the National Working Committee; members of the State Working Committee; and other distinguished Party leaders and stakeholders. “
