Multiple deaths have been reported in an Easter Monday fatal accident in Gombe State. It occurred on the Tashan Gona road, in Billiri, Gombe State.
Witnesses said the accident occurred when an articled vehicle laden with goods, rammed into a group of Christian faithful during an Easter Procession. The group was returning from a mountain prayer gathering.
According to witnesses, several persons were killed on the spot, with some reportedly crushed beyond recognition. Many others suffered various degrees of injuries.
A knowledgeable source said that many of those affected are youths and children, adding that “‘the scene was an eyesore.

At press time, the police authorities had yet to do an official statement on the incident.
