The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has extended warm wishes to residents of the area as they join Christians around the world to mark Easter celebration.
Engr. Ehiwarior, whose goodwill message was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Jonathan Onwuka, urged the people to use the period of the festivity for spiritual renewal and intensive prayerd for the nation.
“As Christians, the Easter period should seen as a moment for deep spiritual reflection and renewal, a time to engage in intensive prayers for ourselves, families and our dear nation. It should be a time to also share love with our neighbours and other Nigerians, irrespective of diversities in ethnic backgrounds and political and religious leanings.
“Our interactions with others should constantly reflect the values of love, sacrifice and hope, which are the foundations upon which the Christian faith is built.
“We must, at all times, eschew the negative attitudes of hatred, envy and bitterness, and strive always to promote brotherly love for the good of our society,” the statement read.
The Chairman urged all Christians in Ika South Local Government Area to reflect on the essence of the season, and also reaffirm their commitment to the service of God and humanity.
While wishing residents a joyous Easter celebration, and praying for peace and progress for Ika South, Engr. Ehiwarior used the opportunity to renew his appeal to residents of the local government area to remain steadfast in their support for his administration.
He reassured them of his commitment to “delivering good governance and the rapid development of our dear local government area.
“As always, my administration is focused on improving the lives of our people, improving security, and working closely with our people to achieve set goals,” he added.
