In a separate intelligence-driven operation on the same day, police operatives intercepted a Volkswagen Sharan vehicle at Kawo Central Motor Park in Kaduna. A search of the vehicle revealed 21 fabricated AK-47 rifles concealed inside. The suspect, 27-year-old Jamilu Suleiman from Rafin Guza, Kaduna, confessed that he had been instructed by a union member to deliver the weapons to an unidentified individual. Investigations into the arms trafficking syndicate are ongoing.
Additionally, the police responded swiftly to a distress call regarding an armed robbery in progress at Doggi Farm along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway. Upon arrival, they engaged in a fierce shootout with a 30-man robbery gang. Two of the robbers were neutralized on the spot, while others fled into nearby hills. Two suspects were apprehended with injuries; one later died at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Memorial Hospital in Sabon Wuse. The surviving suspect is currently assisting with ongoing investigations.
ACP Adejobi reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to dismantling criminal networks, restoring peace, and safeguarding lives and property across the nation.
