The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the temporary closure of its national secretariat following the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Lateef Adekunle Adeniji, who was killed by his abductors.
A memo issued on Thursday, April 10, 2025, and signed by Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagba Abel, stated that the secretariat would remain closed until Monday, April 14, to allow for a period of mourning.
Adeniji was reportedly abducted in Abuja nearly two months ago. Despite a N50 million ransom paid by the party, he was ultimately killed by his captors.
The memo, titled “Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration,” urged staff to observe the period with sober reflection and to offer prayers for the deceased and his loved ones.
“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all party and work-related activities with immediate effect until Monday, April 14, 2025,” the memo read.
