Reactions have begun to trail the declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State over the protracted political crises rocking the state.
In a nationwide broadcast monitored by The Radarr, Tinubu had declared that a state of emergency became necessary “following the failure of the Governor or the Deputy Govenor (of Rivers State) to transmit a letter to me to issue this proclamation according to the constitution.”
Tinubu said the proclamation was an extraordinary measure to restore sanity to the Rivers polity. The emergency rule will last for six months according to the president.
In separate reactions to the Radarr, a cross-section of Nigerians have reacted to this development.
